Life is not about entertainment and indulgence all the time, there must also be hardship and difficulty.
I always remind myself that life's not all beer and skittles.

The expression originates from at least the 1800s. In those days, working men in Britain have a habit of playing skittles and drinking beer at the pub in the evening. Skittles was the precursor to bowling.
