The phrase originated from the Bible and was spoken by the apostle Paul. It seemed that Paul was referring to the consumption of culturally forbidden meat. In his day, some folks considered the consumption of meat acceptable, while others did not.
This phrase has been used to meet and justify an individual’s own personal belief systems to this day.
